Our Favourite Yoga Essentials (That We're Always Asked About)
One of the questions we hear all the time is, "What yoga gear do you actually recommend?" Whether you're just starting your practice or looking to upgrade your favourite pieces, we've rounded up the products we genuinely love and use ourselves.

B MAT Yoga Mat
If we could recommend just one mat, it would be the B MAT.
4mm Regular: Our top choice for most yogis. It offers incredible grip without being overly bulky or heavy, making it perfect for carrying to and from the studio.
6mm: If you have sensitive knees, wrists, or simply prefer extra cushioning, the 6mm is a fantastic option. Just keep in mind—it is noticeably heavier, so be prepared if you're carrying it around often.
We also love lululemon's The Mat, which provides excellent grip and durability, especially if you enjoy hot yoga or sweatier practices.
Cork Yoga Blocks
We're big fans of Cork Yoga Blocks. Unlike foam blocks, cork provides a sturdy, stable foundation while still feeling comfortable to support your practice. Aim for the 3" for everyday and 4" if you prefer a bigger base.
Grace & Stella Eye Masks
Recovery is just as important as movement.
We love Grace & Stella's cooling eye masks for relaxation after class, meditation, or simply unwinding after a long day. They're a small luxury that makes a big difference.
Ginger Shots
A quick ginger shot can add a refreshing little kick to your pre- or post-practice routine. Ginger is traditionally used to support digestion and may help ease inflammation and muscle soreness. We love shots made with simple ingredients like fresh ginger, lemon, and a touch of turmeric—just remember, they complement healthy habits rather than replace them.
Yoga Mat Spray
Keeping your mat clean helps it last longer and keeps your practice feeling fresh.
One of our favourites is Saje's Yoga Mat Spray, made with naturally derived ingredients and refreshing essential oils. It's an easy way to clean your mat between classes without harsh chemicals.
A recent find that smells really lovely is the Moxe Yoga Mat Cleaner Spray in Rosemary & Lemon.
CRZ YOGA Activewear
Comfortable, flattering and reasonably priced, CRZ YOGA offers versatile activewear for yoga, workouts and everyday wear. Their soft fabrics and easy-to-move-in designs make the leggings, shorts and tops reliable options for teaching, practising or heading out after class.
LMNT Electrolytes
For hot yoga or sweatier practices, LMNT helps replenish the sodium, potassium, and magnesium lost through sweat. Simply mix one packet with water before, during, or after class to support hydration and recovery—especially on days when plain water just isn’t cutting it.
Acupressure Mat & Pillow
An acupressure mat and pillow are wonderful tools for recovery and relaxation. Inspired by traditional acupressure techniques, the thousands of small pressure points help stimulate circulation and encourage your body to release tension.
We love using one:
After a yoga practice to relax tight muscles
Before bed to help unwind
During meditation or breathwork
To ease tension in the neck, shoulders, and back
Start with just 10–15 minutes and gradually work your way up as your body adjusts. It can feel intense at first, but many people find it deeply relaxing after the initial few minutes.
Final Thoughts
The best yoga accessories are the ones that support your practice, not distract from it. You don't need every prop on the market, but investing in a few quality essentials can make your practice more comfortable, enjoyable, and sustainable.
Our must-haves? A grippy mat, sturdy cork blocks, a yoga strap, and a good mat spray.
Everything else is simply a wonderful bonus that helps you feel even more at home on your mat.
Happy practicing! 🧘♀️
